2021 Ford F-150 vs 2020 Ford F-150
Serving Havelock, NC
2021 is shaping up to be a big year for many vehicles, and the Ford F-150 is no exception. The Ford F-150, one of the most popular and best-selling trucks in its class, gets even more surprises and improvements this year. The Ford F-150 includes a hybrid powertrain offered for the first time in the truck's history. The electric engine provides a healthy dose of power while also giving the Ford F-150 some of its category's best fuel economies. The hybrid engine is not available in the 2020 model year. The 2021 F-150 also gets some improvements in technology, and it comes with a more versatile and luxurious interior that now has reclining seats for maximal passenger comfort. Going on longer trips is also more enjoyable in the Ford F-150 this year with more storage space in the cabin, including the center console.
Performance
The Ford F-150 excels in 2020 and 2021, but its performance ratings are even better in 2021. This year, the F-150 comes with a hybrid engine variant of the V6 engine offered in the 2020 model year. For 2021, the F-150 adds a battery-powered electric motor to the 3.5L V6 engine available in 2020. The hybrid system will give the 2021 Ford F-150 a towing capacity of approximately 13,000 pounds. The same engine on the 2020 F-150 delivers a respectable 375 HP and 470 LB-FT in torque, making it the second most powerful engine in the lineup. The base engine returns for the F-150 in 2020 with a power output of 325 HP, and you can still choose the turbo diesel engine with a power capacity of 250 HP and 440 LB-FT in torque.
Appearance
A stylish appearance is a notable attribute of the Ford F-150 in 2021. This year, the F-150 gets some softer design characteristics to make it look less boxy and rounded. The F-150 has a sharp-looking front end featuring a chrome-accented grille with Ford's logo front and center. Prominent LED lights show off the new design features in front. There are three body styles available in both model years, and the F-150 can be accessorized with trim-specific features such as alloy wheels on the XLT and off-road amenities on the Raptor.
Features
Bluetooth and USB connectivity are standard on the base F-150 in 2020, but the base infotainment system changes from 4.2-inch display size to a minimum screen size of eight inches between the 2020 and 2021 model years. A 12-inch touchscreen is new in 2021 as well.
