Today's pickup truck shoppers have significant and often unique needs for their next vehicle. As you prepare to select your new truck, your attention may be centered on horsepower, durability, advanced technologies, and many other qualities. The F-Series line of Ford trucks has been preferred by many drivers for more than seven decades. These trucks have progressively improved in all areas through thoughtful evolution, and today's F-150 could be the truck that perfectly meets your needs. The Ford F-150 is often viewed as being comparable to the RAM 1500. RAM trucks were originally introduced less than four decades ago, and they have evolved moderately since that time. Are you ready to dig deeper into these popular truck models to identify their differences?
Exterior
The 2020 Ford F-150 reflects the results of 13 generations of evolution, and today's trim levels each bring subtle style differences to the table for you to appreciate. All trims, however, are outfitted with C-shaped headlights that cup the dual-bar grille. The F-150's exterior is enhanced further by a prominent front bumper, defined front, and rear fenders and confident personality lines through the side panels. When you compare the exterior of the F-150 to the RAM 1500, you will see that the RAM 1500 has a chunky hood and smooth sides. The front of the truck shows off an expansive grille with trim-specific backing. This grille connects to the rectangular headlights.
Interior
These truck models both have spacious cabins that are decked out with desired features, but their equipment and materials vary substantially by model and trim. In the 2020 F-150, you could find a modern infotainment system with a color display screen, a digital screen on the driver's instrumentation panel, mounted controls on the heated steering wheel, leather seating with contrast stitching, heated seats, a wireless charging pad, a leather-wrapped gear shifter, a fold-up rear seat with concealed storage space and many other features. In comparison, the RAM 1500 for 2020 has a bi-level center console with concealed beverage holders and some functional controls. The primary feature in the center stack is a large infotainment system screen. This RAM truck model may also come with a push-button starter, charging stations, a sound system, a climate management system, and other items.
Performance
With several powertrains offered for both truck models, there is a great opportunity to find a truck that lives up to your performance expectations. One of the gas engines that you can consider for the Ford F-150 is a 3.6-liter, High-Output V6 powertrain that will give you 450 horsepower. Some of the other powertrains are a turbo-diesel V6, Power-Stroke 3.0-liter engine, and a 2.7-liter, V6 EcoBoost engine. When you check out the powertrains available for the 2020 RAM 1500, you will find that one option is a 3.6-liter, V6 that puts out 305 horsepower. This powertrain is liked to an automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.
